A shared grocery list you both text on WhatsApp
Text HouseMouse what you need, like “add olive oil and eggs”, and it goes on one list you both see. At the store, ask what’s on it and check things off as you shop. The same list is on the web page.

we’re out of oat milk and coffee
Added oat milk and coffee. They’re on the list you both see.
Grocery list · 2 addedwhat’s on the list?
Oat milk, coffee, eggs and lemons.
How it works
- Add up to eight things in one text. If something’s already on the list, it won’t go on twice.
- “Milk’s bought” checks it off. “Take eggs off” removes it. “Put it back” brings it back.
- Clearing everything you’ve bought waits for a yes, so nobody wipes the list by accident.
- On the web page, the things for tonight’s dinner come first. You can both add, check off or clear.
Your staples
Tell HouseMouse what you always keep in the house, like “we always need milk, eggs and coffee”, and it remembers them as your staples. You can see, change or delete them on the web page.
Receipts, and where you shop
Send a photo of a receipt in your chat. HouseMouse logs what you spent as your cost (you can undo it) and saves the store and every item. Over time it knows where you shop and what you buy, so you can ask when you last bought coffee, or where you paid least for milk.
Where it stops
- It keeps the list. It doesn’t order anything or connect to a store.
- It never asks for store accounts or passwords.
- It only adds what you tell it. Staples don’t go back on the list by themselves.
Questions
- Do we both need WhatsApp?
- It’s easiest that way. The list is also on the web page, where you can both add and check things off.
- Can I send a photo of a handwritten list?
- Not yet. Type what you need, or add it on the web page.
- Does it work with my grocery store’s app?
- No. HouseMouse keeps the list for the two of you. It doesn’t connect to stores or place orders.
